Criteria for ASD - social communication delays with repetitive behaviors/sensory issues.

  • not responding to their name

  • avoiding eye contact

  • not smiling when you smile at them.

  • Repetitive movements, such as flapping their hands, flicking their fingers or rocking their body.

  • Getting very upset if they do not like a certain taste, smell or sound.

  • Loss of previously acquired speech, babbling or social skills


A diagnosis of autism is an important turning point in a long journey to understand your child's brain development/delays.

  • There is no cure for autism, and medications are typically prescribed to manage specific symptoms or co-occurring conditions associated with ASD

  • No Medications to treat core autism. advised melatonin for sleep initiation. probiotic for chronic constipation/gut issues.

  • There is no consensus within the scientific and medical communities regarding the efficacy of stem cell therapy for autism.

There is limited scientific evidence supporting the effectiveness of gluten-free, sugar-free or diary-free diets for the treatment of ASD.

Screen time

Why should we avoid screen time?


  • White matter development is impacted

  • No space for social interaction

  • It’s visually over stimulating

  • Avoid screen time for children below 2 years, and maximum of 1/2 hour for children above the age of 2(screen diet)


Virtual autism is not a recognized medical diagnosis


Therapies to help children with ASD


  • Applied Behavior Analysis which includes interaction, prompts, communication, group, special education and aggresssive behaviours.

  • sensory integration Therapy

  • Self-help Skills/activities of daily living

  • Parental Support/optimal environment
